Video transcript
Hey guys, this is John from Cinevaris. In this video, we'll create your first project, write a few lines, and make sure you know where to find it when you come back. I've already signed in and opened the app.
If you haven't done that yet, the first video covers getting set up. Open Projects, then choose New Project. I'm calling this one Real Friends - Tutorial, so it's easy to tell apart from my other projects.
You can use the name of your film, or just give your practice project a name you'll recognize. Choose Create Project, then start writing. There are five workspaces here. We'll use each of them as we go through the series, but here's a quick look at what they're for.
Write is where you work on your screenplay. Breakdown is where you keep track of what each scene needs, like cast, locations, props. Plan is where you organize your shoot days and shot lists.
Package is where you put together the material you want to share, and reports is where you review and export those documents. For now, we'll stay in write. I'm going to start with a scene heading, Interior, Andrew's Room, Day.
That tells us we're inside Andrew's Room during the day. Press Enter, and the next line is an action line. I'll type Andrew closes his laptop and listens. That's enough for this example.
We've got a location and something happening in the scene. You can keep writing from here. We'll spend more time on dialogue and formatting in later video. Before we leave, take a look at the Save status.
Cinevaris saves as you work. Wait for it to say Saved to Account before you rely on opening the latest version somewhere else. If it's still saving, give it a moment. If there's a warning, check that before closing the app.
Let's go back to Projects. There's real Friends - Tutorial, open it, and the lines we just wrote are still there. That's how you come back to your work. Find a project in your library and open it to carry on.
You've now got a project of your own and a short scene to build on. If you already have a screenplay and another app, the next video will show you how to bring it into Cinevaris. You can find Cinevaris at Cinevaris.com.
I'll put the link in the description, along with support, and the Discord community if you need a hand. Thanks for watching. I'll see you in the next one.
